METROLOGY

To enhance your machines overall performance, IMS offers metrology evaluation and calibration services.  IMS personnel utilize state-of-the-art NIST traceable diagnostic equipment and software to evaluate your machines linear and non-linear error. For example, a Renishaw QC20-W wireless ballbar system is used to perform dynamic circular tests of numerically controlled machine tools that analyze your machine’s performance in accordance with ISO standards. Ballbar data is recorded using the ISO 230-4: 1996 – Part 4: Circular tests for numerically controlled machine tools standard. This standard specifies methods of testing and evaluating the bi-directional circular deviation, the mean bidirectional radial deviation, the circular deviation and the radial deviation of circular paths that are produced by the simultaneous movements of two linear axes. Our technicians follow strict ISO standards and procedures to calibrate your machine to meet OEM specifications.

If you are experiencing issues with your machine regarding squareness, non-repeatability, etc, I encourage you to contact IMS for a full metrology evaluation.
